Building on their Quarterfinal finish at the SoCal Blues Cup over Labor Day weekend, the ’03G Blue Premier team went undefeated and were crowned Champions of the Placer United Showcase for Girls over the October 27-29th weekend.  In winning all four matches the girls showed solid form in group play beating Union Sacramento FC 2-0, South Valley United 2-0, Ajax East Bay, 2-1 setting up a Championship showdown with Placer United.  It was an exciting game that saw WCSC coming back from 0-1 and 1-2 deficits to tie the game with 6 minutes to go on a great attacking run down the flank by Dani Perez, who crossed to Natalie Larue for the finish, and her 2nd goal of the match.  Regulation and Overtime saw the game knotted at 2-2, where the match was decided by Penalty Kicks from the spot.   Spot kicks were converted by Izzy Delacruz, Natalie LaRue and Dani Perez.  Goalkeeper Bella Lopez made two great PK saves,  and we were tied after 5 rounds. It came down to the 6th penalty kick that was converted by Iliana Treyger for the victory!

Isabela ‘Izzy’ DelaCruz was named Player of the Game for her outstanding play and received the game ball.

Congrats also to our ’99G Blue Premier team, coached by Megan Atoigue, who were also crowned Champions, and to our ’06G Blue Premier, coached by Bradlee DeShane, who were Finalists at the Placer United Showcase for Girls.
