WCSC is now Walnut Creek Surf Soccer Club

Hello fellow members of the Walnut Creek Soccer Club.

As our community grows  it is only natural that Walnut Creek Soccer Club adapts to the ever-changing world of Youth Sports.  For 47 years, WCSC has been mentoring the youth of our community. Almost two years ago, we hired Steve Chappell as our club’s General Manager and he has done an exceptional job improving the quality and efficiency of our club’s programs. Earlier this year, we also added Adam Cooper as our Director of Coaching.

Feedback from our membership has consistently identified a strong desire for a visible curriculum for player development and better on field training.  A club wide curriculum will be released this year to provide direction for our players and coaches and we have added new coaches with outstanding resumes to join our already impressive staff.  The depth of the staff’s experience will be used to develop programs for both the Recreational and Competitive programs.

Today, we are extremely proud to announce that WCSC has become the newest affiliate member of the nation’s #1 collaborative and multi-city soccer organization – Surf Cup Sports. Surf is recognized for its award winning staff, high quality competitive tournaments, and teams which have consistently placed top in the nation. With our new affiliation, Walnut Creek Surf Soccer Club recreational and competitive players will be introduced to the highest quality curriculum and our trainers will have access to the same resources used by Surf’s staff.

One of the oldest youth soccer clubs in the nation, Walnut Creek SC was established in 1971 and their goal has always been to provide the best level of play for all players possible. Rebranding as Walnut Creek Surf, the 3,000 player club will transition their recreation program immediately, with their competitive program joining the Surf brand in 2019.
