The Walnut Creek U12 boys United Winter Select team took 2nd place in the 2016 Comstock Shootout Soccer Tournament in Carson City, Nevada.  The United boys really came together at the end of the season with impressive team play. On Saturday, United beat Pleasant Hill 8-1 and Antelope Strikers 10-2. The boys would continue to execute team play on Sunday with a commanding 12-0 win over the host Carson City team to win their division and play for the championship game against a Bishop team that had not been scored on the entire tournament. Bishop jumped to a 1-0 lead against United, before United would take a 2-1 advantage. Bishop capitalized just before the half to even the score at 2 goals each. United came out strong in the second half controlling the game, but unable to put the ball in the back of the net. Bishop was able to take a 3-2 goal advantage. United then suffered from a miscue on a goal kick giving Bishop a 4-2 lead.  Bishop would score another goal making it 5-2 as United pushed the ball offensively in an effort to even the game.
